All Ye That Enter
A mysterious and noir expression of the solstice portal on California's Big Sur coast. Long exposures can provide an altered perception of real time observation by compressing long timespans into a single moment of expression.

Domestic Interlude
Made in a neglected portion of my backyard; with numerous odd objects placed randomly and displaying some level of decay and patina, in contrast to the new steely leaf growth of a large abutilon draped over the table.
As part of an assignment to create something from around our homes, it was mostly about venturing outside my comfort zone and creating a new-for-me genre of expression with photography as my medium.

Assumption of Order
One of my intimate expressions of the infinite possibilities of sand dunes. No matter how many times you might make a photograph from the same place in the Dunes, you will never make the same photograph twice.

Standing Apart
For many of my friends that love to shoot in the Sierra and Yosemite, this iconic little copse of Cottonwoods in the middle of Ahwahnee Meadow in Yosemite Valley is a place we like to visit repeatedly as one never knows how the current conditions will serve to enhance a composition. This conditions on this mild day in late winter were perfect for what I wanted to express, especially in black & white.
This processing style was partially inspired by Charlotte Gibb, a celebrated photographer and photo educator whose work I find especially inspiring. However, this is a deliberately different camera angle and focal length. Sometimes it's hard not to be somewhat derivative, but I always make a specific effort to provide my own expression.Paulpaul porterpaulporterpaulporterphotopaul porter photographypaul porter photophotographyporterlandscapenaturenatural
